Cosmetic Procedure Delegation

What cosmetic procedures can non-licensed staff perform in Maryland medical practices?

In Maryland, the Medical Practice Act defines the practice of medicine and that a person acting within this definition must be a licensed physician.

The Medical Practice Act also creates several exceptions for certain procedures that can be delegated by physicians to persons who are not licensed. This document from MedChi entitled Delegation Rules with Respect to Cosmetic Procedures discusses generally the rules regarding what can be delegated.  For any specific legal situation physicians must retain an attorney licensed in the applicable jurisdiction and with appropriate training and/or experience in the legal area in question.
